What Reactions Can Be Expected?
Brief stinging or heat can occur during treatment. Afterwards, the skin may feel warm or tender and suitable follicles may appear slightly red or raised.
These reactions should gradually settle according to the aftercare advice given for the individual skin and area. They should not progress into increasing pain, blistering or skin breakdown.
Absence of redness does not mean treatment failed. Skin responses vary, and redness may be less visually obvious in some skin tones.
The area can feel sensitive to touch for a short period.
Redness may appear around suitable treated hairs.

Blistering and Crusting
Blisters, scabs or weeping are adverse reactions rather than proof of effective treatment.
Hyperpigmentation

Infection

Can Treatment Cause More Hair Growth?
Paradoxical hypertrichosis means increased or more noticeable hair growth in or around a treated area. Published evidence associates it particularly with face and neck treatment.
The exact cause is not fully established. Fine or downy hair is a weak and unpredictable target, so treating every visible hair is not automatically appropriate.
Pulsar may decline fine facial or neck hair
Restricting treatment to clearly suitable coarse growth can be safer than extending treatment across broad areas of weak target hair.

Moles and Pigmented Lesions
