Both programmes are delivered over four clinic-based training days from 10:00am to 4:00pm, with practical demonstrations, supervised model work and clear professional protocols.
Level 4 Laser Hair Removal
A practical pathway covering consultation, skin and hair assessment, patch testing, treatment parameters, safe delivery and aftercare.

Entry and course information
Entry: Students must be aged 18 or over and hold Level 3 Beauty/Aesthetics or an accepted equivalent. Eligibility is reviewed before enrolment.
Accreditation: This is an ABT-accredited Level 4 course. It is not a VTCT Level 4 qualification.
Equipment: Training equipment is provided during the course. A treatment machine is not included in the course fee.
Level 4 Laser Hair Removal & IPL
A broader pathway covering laser hair removal alongside IPL skin treatments, consultation, treatment planning and practical clinic protocols.

Professional consultation structure, medical history, consent, expectations and treatment planning.
Skin & Hair Assessment
Fitzpatrick skin typing, hair characteristics, treatment suitability and risk assessment.
Contraindications
Identify absolute and relative contraindications and know when treatment must be postponed or refused.
Patch Testing
Safe patch-test procedure, test settings, observation, documentation and client guidance.
Parameters & Settings
Understand wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, repetition rate, cooling and treatment endpoints.
Practical Treatment
Machine setup, safe handling, supervised model treatments and professional treatment-room workflow.
Aftercare
Expected reactions, aftercare advice, adverse-event awareness and when to escalate concerns.
Records & Compliance
Consultation records, patch-test documentation, treatment notes, photography and professional accountability.
Clinic Confidence
Practical guidance on introducing services, managing clients and delivering treatments consistently.

Entry Requirements & Accreditation
Who Can Enrol?
Applicants must be aged 18 or over and normally hold a Level 3 Beauty/Aesthetics qualification or an accepted equivalent. We review each applicant’s qualifications and experience before confirming enrolment.
ABT Accreditation
These are ABT-accredited Level 4 courses designed for professional beauty and aesthetics practitioners. They are not VTCT Level 4 qualifications, and we make that distinction clear before enrolment.

Training Led by Sarah Duffy
Sarah delivers the academy’s laser and IPL programmes from Pulsar Laser Studio’s working Chorley clinic. The training combines structured theory with practical clinic experience, real consultation workflow and supervised treatment delivery.
Students benefit from small classes, direct feedback and ongoing support after the course. The aim is not simply to complete training, but to leave with a safer and more confident professional approach.
