Only Suitable Benign Moles and Lesions Are Treated

Pulsar can treat suitable benign moles and other appropriate lesions with CryoPen following assessment. We do not treat a mole or lesion that is suspected to be cancerous, changing, irregular, unusually pigmented, bleeding without explanation or otherwise uncertain. In those circumstances we will advise an appropriate assessment through your GP, dermatologist or our Map My Mole consultant-review pathway before any CryoPen treatment is considered.

From consultation to healing

How CryoPen Treatment Works for Greater Manchester Clients

Your appointment at Pulsar Horwich—or Chorley if preferred—starts with assessment. CryoPen then delivers a controlled jet of nitrous oxide to rapidly freeze suitable target tissue, which changes and heals gradually rather than being physically cut away.

1

Book Your Clinic

Choose Horwich for our Greater Manchester clinic, or Chorley as an alternative. The £20 consultation is shown on Fresha.

2

Suitability Decision

If the lesion is uncertain or outside our treatment scope, we do not freeze it and explain the appropriate next step.

3

Targeted Treatment

For a suitable lesion, CryoPen is applied in a controlled way while limiting unnecessary contact with surrounding skin.

4

Immediate Response

A brief cold sting, redness, swelling or whitening can occur immediately after treatment.

5

Natural Healing

The area may darken, blister or form a small crust before gradually settling. Do not pick the treated tissue.

6

Review if Required

Some lesions respond after one treatment; larger, thicker or resistant lesions may require another assessment and session.

Treatment scope

Which Lesions May Be Suitable?

Skin tags are the main focus of this service. Selected other benign lesions may be considered following assessment, but treatment is never based on a website description or photograph alone.

Common treatment enquiries

Lesions We Can Assess

  • Soft, flesh-coloured skin tags on suitable body areas
  • Suitable benign moles following assessment
  • Common warts and verrucas where cryotherapy is appropriate
  • Selected small cherry angiomas after careful assessment
  • Selected seborrhoeic keratoses that are clearly identified as benign
  • Multiple lesions where the number, location and treatment time remain suitable
Outside our CryoPen pathway

Lesions We Will Not Freeze

  • Suspected cancerous, suspicious or uncertain moles and lesions
  • New or changing lesions requiring medical assessment
  • Lesions that are bleeding, ulcerated, infected or actively inflamed
  • Areas where treatment risk is not acceptable for your skin or health
  • Milia or facial bumps unless assessment confirms an appropriate treatment method

Preparation and recovery

Before and After CryoPen Treatment

Follow the individual advice provided at your appointment. Healing varies with lesion type, depth, location, skin response and the amount of tissue treated.

Before treatment

Prepare the Area

  • Arrive with the area clean and free from makeup, fake tan and heavy products
  • Do not pick, cut, tie off or irritate the lesion before your appointment
  • Tell us about medication, allergies, circulation concerns, healing problems or health changes
  • Bring any previous medical opinion if the lesion has already been assessed
  • Send a clear photograph first if you are unsure whether to book
After treatment

Support Healing

  • Keep the area clean and avoid rubbing, scratching or picking
  • Do not deliberately burst blisters or remove crusts
  • Avoid friction, swimming, hot tubs, saunas and excessive heat while the area is vulnerable
  • Use sun protection once the skin has healed if the area is exposed
  • Contact the clinic if pain, redness, heat, swelling or discharge is worsening

Greater Manchester CryoPen FAQs

Questions Before Booking

Clear answers for Greater Manchester clients about clinic choice, suitability, treatment, healing, prices and medical assessment.

Where is skin tag removal available in Greater Manchester?
Pulsar Laser Studio Horwich is our Greater Manchester clinic at 23 Winter Hey Lane, Horwich, Bolton BL6 7AD. You can also choose Pulsar Chorley at 2 Pilkington Court, George Street, Chorley PR7 2BE.
How does CryoPen treatment work for Greater Manchester clients?
Book the £20 consultation at Horwich or Chorley. We assess the lesion and relevant health information first. If suitable, CryoPen delivers a controlled jet of nitrous oxide to freeze the target tissue, which then heals gradually.
What is CryoPen?
CryoPen is a cryotherapy device that delivers a controlled jet of nitrous oxide to freeze suitable target tissue. The treated tissue then heals gradually over the following days or weeks.
Can every skin tag be treated?
No. Suitability depends on whether the lesion is clearly appropriate for treatment, as well as its history, size, location, your skin and relevant health factors. We do not treat uncertain or suspicious lesions.
Does CryoPen skin tag treatment hurt?
Most clients describe a brief cold sting, pinching or burning sensation. Discomfort varies with the area, lesion and individual sensitivity, and tenderness may continue after treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
Some small skin tags respond after one treatment. Larger, thicker or resistant lesions and warts or verrucas may require another assessment and further treatment. Complete clearance cannot be guaranteed.
What happens while the area heals?
Redness, swelling, tenderness, whitening, darkening, blistering or a small crust can occur. The treated tissue should be allowed to heal naturally without picking, cutting or deliberately bursting blisters.
Can CryoPen cause scarring or pigment change?
Yes. Scarring and temporary or lasting lightening or darkening of the skin are recognised risks, although they are not expected in every case. Suitability, conservative treatment and careful aftercare are important.
Can you treat multiple skin tags in one appointment?
Often yes, provided each lesion is suitable and the number, locations and overall treatment time remain appropriate. A quotation is provided after assessment.
Can darker skin tones have CryoPen treatment?
Treatment may be possible, but cryotherapy can cause light or dark pigment changes in any skin and this risk can be more significant in some skin tones. Individual assessment and realistic risk discussion are essential.
Do you treat moles with CryoPen?
Pulsar can treat suitable benign moles with CryoPen following assessment. We do not treat suspected cancerous, suspicious, changing or uncertain moles. These require an appropriate medical or consultant-review pathway before CryoPen treatment is considered.
How much does skin tag removal cost?
The consultation and suitability check costs £20. Suitable single-lesion treatments start from £75, and treatment for three suitable areas starts from £120. Larger or more complex treatment plans are quoted after assessment.
Can Greater Manchester clients choose the Chorley clinic?
Yes. Although Horwich is our Greater Manchester clinic, you can choose Chorley if it is more convenient or has an appointment time that suits you better. Both clinics follow the same consultation-led CryoPen pathway.
