Map My Mole states that digital reports are usually provided within 24–48 hours after a successful submission. Occasionally more information or clearer images may be requested before an opinion can be completed.
Is this full-body mole mapping?⌄
No. This is focused dermoscopic imaging and remote consultant review of the selected mole or visible skin lesion submitted. It is not a head-to-toe skin examination and cannot assess areas that have not been photographed.
Can Map My Mole diagnose skin cancer?⌄
The consultant report provides a professional opinion from the submitted images and information, but images alone cannot give a definitive tissue diagnosis. If cancer is suspected, face-to-face medical assessment and a biopsy may be required.
What happens if the report raises concern?⌄
The report will advise you to see your GP or a dermatologist. Arrange that follow-up promptly and take the report with you. Map My Mole states that its team also follows up when a consultant reports a mole or lesion of concern.
Do you remove moles at Pulsar?⌄
No. Pulsar does not biopsy or remove moles. Any investigation or treatment recommended in the report must be arranged through your GP, NHS dermatology or an appropriate private medical specialist.
Can I book if my mole is changing or bleeding?⌄
Yes. A changing, painful, itchy, inflamed, bleeding or crusty mole should be assessed promptly. Map My Mole can provide a focused opinion from a UK consultant dermatologist, usually within 24–48 hours. You may also contact your GP directly, and you should follow any recommendation for face-to-face GP or dermatology review contained in your report.
Can I choose Horwich instead of Chorley?⌄
Yes. Chorley is the main Lancashire pathway, but the same Map My Mole image-capture and submission service is available at Pulsar Horwich if that clinic is more convenient or has an appointment time that suits you better.
