Blistering after tattoo removal treatment
Laser tattoo removal is a safe and effective way to fade or eliminate unwanted ink — but sometimes, clients experience blistering during the healing process.
At Pulsar Laser Studio, we believe in educating our clients so you feel informed and reassured every step of the way.
✅ Is Blistering After Tattoo Removal Normal?
Yes — blistering is a common and expected side effect, especially after your first few laser sessions.
Blisters form as part of your body’s natural healing response to the laser energy breaking down ink particles. This includes:
-
Heat exposure from the laser
-
Mild inflammation
-
Your immune system working to clear the ink
Most blisters resolve within 3–7 days.
🔍 What Do Tattoo Removal Blisters Look Like?
-
Clear or yellowish fluid-filled bubbles
-
Usually appear within 24 hours of treatment
-
Skin may feel tight, sensitive, or warm
-
Sometimes scabbing follows blistering
❗ If you notice increasing redness, pain, pus, or red streaks — please contact us. These may be signs of infection.
💡 How to Care for Blistered Skin
-
Don’t pop the blisters. Let them heal naturally.
-
Keep the area clean and dry. Wash gently with lukewarm water and mild soap.
-
Apply a thin layer of antibacterial ointment (like Bepanthen or Savlon).
-
Cover with a sterile, breathable dressing if the area rubs against clothing.
-
Avoid sun exposure, swimming, hot baths, and tight clothing.

💧 What If a Blister Pops?
If a blister pops on its own:
-
Clean the area immediately using sterile saline or cool boiled water.
-
Apply antibiotic ointment and cover with a clean, non-stick dressing.
-
Change the dressing daily and monitor for signs of infection.
-
Avoid touching the area with unwashed hands.
-
Do not pick at the skin or scabs.
This helps prevent scarring and supports faster healing.
⏱️ When Will the Skin Heal?
Blisters usually heal in 3 to 7 days, depending on the area and your body’s response.
After healing, some flaking or light scabbing is normal. Avoid sun exposure until the area is fully healed.
We recommend spacing your sessions 6–8 weeks apart for best results.
